Receptacles - also called as sockets or probe housing units, allow spring loaded test probes (pogo pins) to be quickly and easily placed in or removed and replaced when damaged. Sockets are placed into precisely drilled holes, in order to create an electrically conductive environment for test probes. Receptacles are made of Brass, Berrylium Copper, Nickel Silver, Bronze or other conductive raw materials. In most cases they are gold or nickel plated, depending on application.
